Sustainable Interaction and GamCare to present at ICE London!

Christofer Hagstedt by a podium

Christofer Hagstedt, Sustainable Interaction, and Anna Hemmings, GamCare, will be giving a joint presentation at ICE London! The presentation takes place in the Consumer Protection Zone and starts at 11:30 AM, Wednesday February 5th. The presentation is titled Game Change: Bridging the Gap between Consumer Protection and Treatment.

The presentation will focus on the proactive role of the gambling operator and their role in forwarding players to support organisations, and how these support and treatment organisations can lead the help seeking player through a series of interventions and treatment offerings. Anna and Christofer will share their insights into the results of these efforts.

In October 2019, GamCare released their online treatment programme (cCBT) for problem gamblers: GameChange. GameChange is one of Sustainable Interaction’s flagship products, and we are immensely proud that GamCare have chosen to work with us to provide accessible treatment to problem gamblers all across the UK.

GamCare has implemented an end-to-end digital approach to provide interventions and treatment to at risk and problem players, using the products that we at Sustainable Interaction supply. Seeing our self-assessment test, GamTest, our micro interventions and our CCBT treatment program all implemented as a digital pathway to provide the best possible help to all categories of players is really the next step in helping players, says Christofer Hagstedt, Sustainable Interaction.

The three main functions of the cCBT are:

  • Online exercises and assignments divided into eight modules that are completed one at a time.

  • Continuous therapy calls, where the client and the therapist follow up on the exercises and assignments that the client has completed.

  • An online forum for peer support where clients can share their thoughts, discuss concerns and find inspiration and motivation from others that are in a similar situation as themselves.

Sustainable Interaction have been developing the cCBT since 2003. The new platform was developed in 2017, and apart from GamCare, the product is also in use by the Finnish organisation Peluuri, as well as five Swedish treatment providers. The programme has been the subject for numerous scientific studies, including a study with 6, 12 and 36 months follow ups.
